My acting experience consists of high school Shakespeare plays in English class and Christmas presentations at church. My modelling experience consists of catwalking fashion design students’ work more than a decade ago.

And yet, publicists have asked me to audition twice – and given me the part both times.

After getting turned down for an aid and development position and subsequently filming my second TV commercial, it occurs to me that perhaps I am on the wrong career path. I have made a grand total of nothing ($0) fighting for justice; in contrast, I’ve earned about 1700 bolivianos (about USD250) doing advertising.

The worst thing about unemployment
