To commemorate the official start of Evo Morales’ third term as president, I thought I’d share a few images that demonstrate the cult that has grown around him as a political and cultural figure. In Bolivia: One of many murals in the city of El Alto and in La Paz depicting the Bolivian president. He won his third term in October with over 60% of the vote. Evopolio – Bolivia’s own version of Monopoly, complete with drug traffickers and bandits. Photo credit: Página Siete – click the image to read more about the game. In Russia: An Evo Morales matrushka doll alongside Putin dolls, at a Russian souvenir store. There were also Chávez and Obama ones, in case you were curious! In Chile: Evo alongside el Chavo del 8 in a larger work that was part of an exhibition in Valparaiso about the four female presidents of Latin America (exactly what the connection is – well, your guess is as good as mine). 0 0 0 0 Please leave this field empty Don't miss future posts Get them in your inbox as soon as they're published Your Name Email Address * I'm not here to make money - I promise not to give or sell your data to anyone.
